At The Meadows Academy, we are always looking for ways to support the health and wellbeing of our students, particularly in areas where we know they may face additional challenges. Our academy is participating in a Teeth Cleaning Program, in collaboration with NHS practitioners, designed to promote healthy brushing habits among our pupils.
We understand that many of our students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), can experience sensory difficulties when it comes to teeth cleaning and may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. This program has been developed specifically to support these pupils in a calm, familiar environment, with the goal of improving both comfort and confidence around oral hygiene.
The program supports pupils in in Year 7 and Year 8, who will be supported in brushing their teeth during the school day using NHS-provided dental packs. All staff involved have been fully trained by NHS practitioners to ensure a safe and supportive experience for all participants.
To enable your child to take part in this valuable program, we require your consent. Consent forms are available from the academy office.
