Welcome to The Meadows Academy A nurturing and specialist environment for students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
At The Meadows Academy, we are a passionate team of professionals committed to transforming the life chances of young people. Our goal is to empower every student to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—and to unlock their full potential. Our pupils come from across County Durham, with many travelling from neighbouring areas including Darlington, Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Cumbria, and Northumberland.
Our Core Values
Belonging We believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. We foster a strong sense of community by working closely with families and support networks, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the care and interventions we provide. Daily routines are designed to help students feel connected and supported within our school family.
Becoming Our personalised curriculum is designed to challenge and support each learner, helping them grow into confident, capable individuals. We focus on both academic achievement and personal development, equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Beyond We inspire our students to dream big and aim high. Through tailored therapeutic support and targeted interventions, we prepare them for the next steps in life—whether that’s further education, training, or employment. Our approach is holistic, forward-thinking, and rooted in care.
