Student Voice

Student Voice: Your School, Your Say
At our school, your voice matters. We want to know exactly what you think so we can make sure you get the most out of your school experience. Your opinions help shape decisions and improve life at school for everyone.
1. Junior Leaders
Our Junior Leaders meet every three weeks. Each tutor group has one or two representatives who bring ideas and concerns from their group. The Junior Leaders make important decisions and report their minutes to the school’s leadership team. All minutes are displayed on the Junior Leaders Meeting Board, so everyone can see what’s being discussed and acted on.
2. Surveys
We ask for your feedback regularly through surveys. These help us understand your views on a wide range of topics, from e-safety to school facilities. Your responses guide us on where attention and resources are needed most, so we can make school better for you.
3. Trusted Adults
Every student has a trusted adult in school—a person you can talk to about anything, big or small. We regularly check that these relationships are strong so that you always have someone to turn to when you need support.
4. Tutor Activities
Your opinions are also gathered during tutor activities. For example, we’ve asked about uniform choices and your preferred jumper colours. Your feedback directly informs school decisions and shows that your voice has real impact.

Belonging, Becoming, Beyond
Learning to advocate for yourself is an important life skill. Being able to share your thoughts, ideas, and concerns—especially about things that affect you—helps you:
  • Take control of your learning and environment
  • Build confidence and communication skills
  • Make informed decisions about your future
  • Ensure your needs and ideas are heard and valued
Advocating for yourself isn’t always easy, but practicing it now helps you prepare for life beyond school, where being able to express your views clearly can make a big difference. At school, every voice counts—yours included.
