We are introducing a school uniform from September 3rd 2025 for all pupils. The proposals are currently under consultation with all stakeholders.
Our primary goal in introducing a uniform is to provide a practical solution that supports both our students and their families. We believe that a school uniform can help reduce the financial burden on parents, as it creates a clear and consistent wardrobe for students that can be worn daily, without the need for constantly purchasing new clothing.
In addition, a uniform can provide students with a sense of belonging and pride in being part of our school community, while supporting a smoother transition between the home and school environment. It establishes clear expectations and encourages a focused mind-set, setting the tone for learning and engagement each day.
One of our top priorities is ensuring that the uniform we choose is inclusive and sensitive to the diverse needs of our pupils. To this end, we are proposing a uniform that is sensory-aware, designed to minimise discomfort for students with different sensory needs. We are committed to making sure that the uniform is flexible and adaptable, allowing for adjustments to ensure every student feels comfortable and confident.
We will be hosting a drop in consultation meeting on Thursday 1st May 3pm-5pm and invite you to come into school to discuss your views and ideas with teaching staff and occupational therapists.
Black trainers/shoes
Pupils will wear black shoes or trainers with minimal logos. Pupils do PE in their school clothing and play out on the field at social times, so a comfortable shoe is essential.
- Black shoes
- Black trainers with minimal logo
*No Crocs, sandals and Ugg boots are not permitted.
Black trousers/bottoms
We are planning for a variety of options for pupils because all of our young people are different. Pupils can wear which ever option helps them feel cool and comfortable. Shorts can be worn all year round, not just in the Summer because some pupils get very hot. Bottoms need to be suitable for a range of physical activity.
- Black shorts (longer length at knee)
- Black tracksuit bottoms with no logo
- Black trousers
*No Cycling shorts
*No Leggings
*No Skirts
White polo shirt/shirt
Again – choice is essential to make sure we meet everyone’s different needs. Pupils can wear which ever option helps them feel cool and comfortable. Some pupils might wear a plain white base layer under their shirt for comfort or sensory reasons.
- Plain white polo shirt (collar) with no logo
- Plain white shirt with collar
*No White t-shirt with branding
*No Coloured base layer/t-shirt underneath polo shirt
Royal blue round neck sweatshirt
Our school colour is blue and so our sweatshirt will be blue. Blue sweatshirts are available cheaply at supermarkets. Pupils selected blue from the colours available because it looked more mature and was not too bright.
- Royal blue sweatshirt
*No Royal blue hoodie
