The government provide additional funding to publicly funded schools in England to support learning.
Pupil Premium
During each academic year The Meadows Academy receive a "Pupil Premium". The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units.
At The Meadows there are two key areas that are identified for the use of Pupil Premium:
- To help raise literacy for the least able pupils at The Meadows Academy
- To help engage the most disaffected KS4 pupils who have a history of persistent absence
Every penny that comes in to The Meadows Academy from Pupil Premium has a direct effect on the learning and attainment of the children it is paid for.
