Odd Socks and Upstanding Voices: Anti-Bullying Week at The Meadows Academy
Last week, The Meadows Academy was a sea of colour and individuality as pupils and staff proudly wore odd socks to school. This vibrant display wasn’t just about fashion—it was a powerful symbol of our commitment to celebrating difference and standing united against bullying.
As part of our ongoing work around anti-bullying, every pupil completed an AQA Unit Award in Anti-Bullying, demonstrating their understanding of what bullying is, how to recognise it, and most importantly, how to be an upstander—someone who speaks out and takes action when they see bullying happening.
We also revisited our Anti-Bullying Charter, which was co-created by pupils and staff in 2024. This charter reflects our shared values and outlines the behaviours we expect from everyone in our school community. Reviewing it together gave us a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come and reaffirm our commitment to keeping The Meadows Academy a safe, respectful, and inclusive place for all.
We’re proud of every student for their thoughtful contributions and for standing up for what’s right. At The Meadows Academy, we don’t just talk about respect—we live it.
