Throughout the day, students explored a range of Roald Dahl themes across different subjects. In Humanities, they discussed power and conflict through The Magic Finger, while PSHCE lessons focused on freedom and fairness through the story of the Oompa-Loompas from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Students also explored hopes, dreams and aspirations through activities inspired by The BFG. Every lesson brought Roald Dahl's imaginative worlds to life and encouraged students to think deeply about the important messages behind the stories.
To make the day even more memorable, staff embraced the spirit of the occasion by dressing up as a variety of Roald Dahl characters. From eccentric inventors to giant dream-catchers, the costumes helped create a fun atmosphere and brought plenty of smiles throughout the day.
The highlight for many students came at the end of the day with a delicious Roald Dahl-inspired treat. Students tucked into a rich chocolate fudge cake, just like the famous one Bruce Bogtrotter had to eat in Matilda, served with an unforgettable helping of bright green custard! It was the perfect way to round off a fantastic day of learning, creativity and fun.
A huge thank you to all the staff who planned and delivered such imaginative activities and helped make Roald Dahl Day a magical experience for everyone involved.
