WoW Wednesday

Our Year 11 Sports Studies pupils have been learning all about the anatomy of the knee. To help them understand the different structures and how the joint works, pupils used playdough to create their own model knee joints. This practical activity brought the topic to life and helped pupils identify the different parts of the joint while developing their understanding of sports injuries and movement. The finished models looked excellent and demonstrated some impressive knowledge.

In Maths, Year 8 pupils have been combining mathematics with creativity. The challenge was to design their own packaging inspired by the popular Prime drinks brand, but there was a catch - they could only use prime numbers within their designs. Pupils worked carefully to identify suitable prime numbers before incorporating them into eye-catching packaging concepts. The results were fantastic, with some truly gorgeous designs produced. It was a brilliant example of pupils applying their mathematical knowledge in a creative and engaging way.

Our Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils have also been making a positive difference in the local community by taking part in litter picking activities around the academy. Pupils worked together to help keep the local environment clean, showing pride in their community and demonstrating our academy values. Their efforts made a real difference to the area and were a wonderful example of pupils giving something back to the community.
Well done to everyone involved. We can't wait to see what amazing work takes place next week!
