Each year, we focus on three key charity events: Children in Need, the Macmillan Coffee Morning, and Children’s Cancer North. These events provide meaningful opportunities for our pupils to make a difference while building a sense of empathy, social responsibility, and community spirit.

 

This half term, we are preparing for one of our most anticipated events—the Children’s Cancer North Sponsored Run. Every pupil and member of staff takes part in a one-mile circuit, working together to raise funds for this fantastic charity. The event is always a highlight of the school calendar, bringing the whole community together for a shared purpose.

 

Last year, we raised almost £2,000, an achievement that exceeded all expectations and demonstrated the incredible generosity and determination of our pupils and staff. More than just the funds raised, however, it was the lasting impact on our pupils that truly stood out.

 

The sense of pride and accomplishment they experienced was remarkable. Pupils could clearly see how their efforts translated into real support for others, helping them to understand the difference they can make in people’s lives. This feeling of success has continued to inspire them, reinforcing the importance of kindness, teamwork, and giving back.

 

As we gear up for this year’s sponsored run on 10th July, we are excited to once again come together for such an important cause. We look forward to seeing our pupils rise to the challenge and continue to show the compassion and determination that makes The Meadows Academy such a special place.
