Free School Meals – Changes from September 2026

What’s changing?
  • All children in families receiving Universal Credit will now qualify
  • The current £7,400 income limit is being removed
This means many more families will now be eligible.

Important: You still need to apply.  Free school meals are not automatic, even if you receive Universal Credit.
