At The Meadows Academy, Easter is a much‑loved part of the rhythm of the year—a time when we come together to celebrate tradition, community and the arrival of spring. With blossom trees and daffodils brightening our grounds, the whole school has enjoyed a range of activities that strengthen our identity and bring joy to pupils across all year groups.
Year 7 Easter Egg Hunt Across the School Grounds
One of our most anticipated traditions is the annual Year 7 Easter Egg Hunt, a brilliant opportunity for pupils to get outdoors and explore our extended grounds. Using maps and teamwork, Year 7 pupils put their navigation skills to the test as they searched for Easter eggs hidden around the site.
This year’s hunt was made possible thanks to the fantastic organisation of Dom in Year 10, who planned the activity, placed the eggs, and supported the Year 7s throughout the morning. His leadership and enthusiasm ensured every pupil had a fun and successful experience.
Easter Reflections in Tutor Time
To continue the celebrations, all pupils enjoyed hot cross buns and melted mini eggs in tutor groups, accompanied by discussions about the beliefs and symbolism behind these Easter treats. Pupils learned about the significance of the hot cross bun’s distinctive markings and how eggs represent themes of new life and renewal across different cultures and traditions.
These reflective moments helped pupils connect with the meaning behind Easter customs and understand how seasonal traditions can shape identity and belonging.
A Sweet End to a Brilliant Term
As a final treat—and to recognise a term full of progress, kindness and resilience—every pupil is heading home with their own Easter egg. It’s a small but meaningful way of celebrating the efforts of our wonderful school community.
What a fantastic end to the spring term and a beautiful celebration of the traditions that make The Meadows Academy such a special place.
