Belonging and mental health

This week at The Meadows Academy, our students have taken part in a range of activities focused on belonging and mental health, perfectly reflecting our school values of Belonging, Becoming and Beyond. Pupils chose from enriching sessions including:

  • Chocolate and meditation with Mr Clark
  • Chocolate and chat with Mrs Stobbo
  • Mindful Mile with Miss P and Mrs Hart
  • Boxing and mindfulness with John
  • Aromatherapy with Miss Cullen
Many young people experience challenges with their mental health from time to time, and we want our students to know that it is completely normal to feel “a bit blue” and that seeking support is a sign of strength. Using the Zones of Regulation, where blue can represent feeling low and red can indicate anger or frustration, these activities have helped students explore their emotions in a safe, supportive environment. It has been fantastic to see so many learners getting involved, opening up meaningful conversations, and building confidence in looking after their wellbeing.
